Tonight’s MKR Grand Final is between two sets of women who are annoying in very different ways.
It’s the dripping-with-bile Perth buddies, Chloe and Kelly versus the passive aggressive Adelaide mums, Bree and Jessica whose accents alone can set your teeth on edge.
So who will take home the $250,000 prize money and who will lose it in the kitchen?
It’s anyone’s guess – although when it came to meltdowns, judge Manu Fieldel almost lost it at last night’s semi-final over the wonder that was Bree and Jessica’s tarte tatin – no doubt giving them a much needed boost of confidence going into the final.Hell, he evan asked them for the recipe.
As a long standing MKR devotee, it’s hard not to have felt manipulated this season especially when it came to the dramatic sparring between Chloe and Kelly and the Greek twins from Victoria, Helena and Vikki, who are avid consumers of bright red lipstick.
There was so much face pulling, back stabbing and name calling, viewers were almost left wondering whether a stray duck breast or an entire quail might suddenly go hurtling across the kitchen benches?
In fact, Chloe and Kelly almost put more energy into acting the role of villains than they did in cooking their three course meals.
The build up of suspense was unbelievable that the sworn enemies might even face each other in the grand final. Certainly the twins did well but they were never going to make the distance.
The saving grace for tonight’s grand final in the absence of let’s face it, loveable, heart warming contestants, will no doubt be the appearance of their friends and families cheering them on. Expect a tugging of the heart strings when some of their children turn up as well
Personally I can’t wait to see my favourites David and Corinne make a comeback along with all of the other contestants in the series.
David, was the over confident original villain with his much younger girlfriend, Corinne. It;’s just a pity that despite talking the talk, they didn’t have enough cooking skills to maintain a long presence in the program.
Equally enthralling will be Manu Fieldel’s latest hairstyle for the grand final with his dark hair often rising like a piece of choux pastry on his head. Tonight I predict that his hair alone will be epic.
