Australia:Students urged to enter ANZAC competition

Students can either submit a drawing, painting, poem, an essay or interview a veteran.

All Greek Australian students are being urged to enter the annual ANZAC competition held by the Australian Hellenic Memorial Foundation.

With the support from Mr Vasilios Gkokas, of the Consul for Educational Affairs, the Foundation will be holding the competition for its fifth and all Greek schools are invited to enter as many students as they like.

The competition is open to all ages from year 1 to year 12.

The purpose of the competition is for the Students to learn the sacrifice and Service of the ANZACs and the Greek people, during the Second World War in Greece.

Mr Gkokas also mentions the importance of all Students to learn the Historical events in Greece, in WWII.

Students can either submit a drawing, painting, a poem, an essay or interview a veteran.

All winners receive cash Prizes from $50 to $400 and all students who participate will receive a badge and a certificate of participation.

The Competition closes on Friday 12 September 2014 with all winners will receive their prizes on Sunday 12th October 2014, at the Australian Hellenic Memorial.
