Greek community to celebrate Australia Day

Live music performances and Greek folk dancing for all tastes and ages.

To celebrate Australia Day, an event has been scheduled for Sunday 24 January at the picturesque Coburg Park Lake.

Organised by The Federation of Greek Elderly Citizens Clubs of Melbourne and Victoria, in conjunction with 3XY Radio Hellas, the Greek Australian community event is taking place for the sixth year running.

The national holiday is an opportunity for members of the Greek and wider Australian community to celebrate the past achievements of the Greek community across the nation and to give thanks for the good fortune of living Down Under.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event, including a number of federal and state government representatives, the local mayor and other dignitaries yet to be named.

On the day there will be live music performances and Greek folk dancing for people of all ages to enjoy.
