Up to 20 long-finned pilot whales have become stranded against the breakwater wall at Bunbury Harbour in Western Australia’s South West region.

The Department of Parks and Wildlife says some of the whales appear to be injured.

An incident management team is liaising with the Bunbury Port Authority and Department of Fisheries.

An aircraft has been deployed to monitor the area and determine if there are more whales.
