Επειδή θεωρεί Ελληνικό τον τάφο στην Αμφίπολη

Οι επαγγελματίες παραχαράκτες της ιστορίας από τα Σκόπια κατηγορούν βρετανικά και αμερικανικά Μέσα Ενημέρωσης ότι «μετονόμασαν αδαώς τον μακεδονικού τύπου τάφο σε ελληνικό». Επικρίνουν για «ερασιτεχνισμό» και «πλήρη άγνοια της ιστορίας» Μέσα Ενημέρωσης όπως το BBC, την Washington Post και τους International Business Times.

Το κομμουνιστικό παρελθόν τους και τις σταλινικές μεθόδους παραχάραξης της ιστορίας θυμούνται οι Σκοπιανοί που φαίνεται ότι έχουν πάρει βαρέως το θέμα της Αμφίπολης. Αυτή τη φορά η κυβέρνηση Γκρούεφσκι που ελέγχει απολύτως τα μέσα ενημέρωσης στα Σκόπια έφτασε στο σημείο να κατηγορήσει για «ερασιτεχνισμό» και «πλήρη άγνοια της ιστορίας» βρετανικά και αμερικανικά μέσα μαζικής ενημέρωσης όπως το BBC, την Washington Post και τους International Business Times.
Οι απίστευτοι Σκοπιανοί, έχουν ταυτιστεί σε τέτοιο βαθμό με τη Μακεδονία που ερμηνεύουν ακόμη και τις δηλώσεις των Ελλήνων αρχαιολόγων αλλά και του πρωθυπουργού, Αντώνη Σαμαρά, ως υποτιθέμενη απόδειξη του ισχυρισμού τους ότι ο τάφος της Αμφίπολης είναι «μακεδονικός» δηλαδή Σκοπιανός, αφού ισχυρίζονται ότι η ΠΓΔΜ είναι ο «νόμιμος διάδοχος» της αρχαίας Μακεδονίας!

Σύμφωνα με πρωτοσέλιδο δημοσίευμα της φιλοκυβερνητικής εφημερίδας «Dnevnik», με τίτλο «Ερασιτεχνισμός και άγνοια σε αμερικανικά και βρετανικά ΜΜΕ / Πώς κατέστη ελληνικός ο τάφος στην Αμφίπολη από την εποχή της Μακεδονίας» καταγγέλλει βρετανικά και αμερικανικά ΜΜΕ όπως το BBC, η «The Washington Post» και οι «International Business Times» για «ερασιτεχνισμό» και «πλήρη άγνοια της ιστορίας» με αφορμή τις πρόσφατες αναφορές τους στις ανασκαφές στην Αμφίπολη.

Το δημοσίευμα υποστηρίζει ότι τα βρετανικά και τα αμερικανικά ΜΜΕ «μετονόμασαν αδαώς τον μακεδονικού τύπου τάφο σε ελληνικό» ενώ σχολιάζει τα εξής: «Υπήρξαν και συνεχίζουν να υπάρχουν κάθε είδους θέσεις και απόψεις. Ωστόσο, κανένας επιστήμονας (ακόμη και στην Ελλάδα) δεν αμφισβήτησε τον όρο “μακεδονικός τάφος”, δηλαδή το γεγονός πως εκεί έχει ενταφιαστεί κάποια μεγάλη προσωπικότητα από τη μακεδονική δυναστεία. Αυτό υπογραμμίστηκε με σαφήνεια παντού. Ακόμη και ο Έλληνας πρωθυπουργός, Αντώνης Σαμαράς, ο οποίος επισκέφθηκε αυτή την τοποθεσία, δήλωσε ότι η μακεδονική γη δεν παύει να μας εκπλήσσει» γράφουν οι Σκοπιανοί!
Ωστόσο, αποκρύπτουν τη συνέχεια της δήλωσης του Αντώνη Σαμαρά ότι οι αρχαιολογικές ανακαλύψεις στην Αμφίπολη αποτελούν επιβεβαίωση της ελληνικότητας της Μακεδονίας…

Το πρωτοφανές δημοσίευμα της εφημερίδας “Dnevnik” εκτιμά πως δεν είναι καθόλου τυχαίο το γεγονός ότι οι παραπάνω αναφορές προέρχονται κυρίως από ΜΜΕ του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, «δηλαδή της χώρας η οποία υπερηφανεύεται για την Έκθεση στο Βρετανικό Μουσείο που περιλαμβάνει τα μάρμαρα του Παρθενώνα» ενώ σχολιάζει: «Αυτό που δεν είναι σαφές στην όλη υπόθεση είναι ο λόγος για τον οποίο τα διεθνή ΜΜΕ προσδιορίζουν έναν τάφο από την περίοδο του μακεδονικού βασιλείου χρησιμοποιώντας τους όρους “Ελλάδα” και “ελληνικός”, χωρίς να αναφέρουν πότε η Ελλάδα πάτησε επίσημα το πόδι της στην Μακεδονία και σε οποιαδήποτε περιοχή βορείως του Ολύμπου κατά τη διάρκεια ολόκληρης αυτής της περιόδου, δηλαδή από την εποχή της αρχαίας Μακεδονίας μέχρι και το 1912. Προφανώς πρόκειται για ερασιτεχνισμό και φοβερή άγνοια των μεγάλων διεθνών ενημερωτικών ΜΜΕ, τα οποία έχουν πρόβλημα με βασικούς όρους ιστορίας».

Νέα σελίδα στην ιστορία της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας Μελβούρνης και Βικτωρίας θα γραφτεί αυτήν την Κυριακή, με τα επίσημα εγκαίνια του νέου κοινοτικού κτιρίου, στην ιστορική γωνία Russell και Lonsdale Streets.

Το 15ώροφο, επιβλητικό Ελληνικό Κέντρο θα εγκαινιάσει ο πρωθυπουργός της Βικτώριας, κ. Ντένις Ναφθάιν, παρουσία εκπροσώπων των κυβερνητικών, εκκλησιαστικών και διπλωματικών Αρχών, της Τοπικής Αυτοδιοίκησης, ομογενειακών οργανισμών και επιχειρήσεων, ευεργετών της Κοινότητας και μεγάλου αριθμού μελών και ομογενών, σε ανοιχτή εκδήλωση στο χώρο του κοινοτικού οικήματος.

Στην εκδήλωση, που θα αρχίσει στις 3.30μμ, έχουν προσκληθεί και θα παραστούν, μεταξύ άλλων, ο αρχηγός της πολιτειακής Εργατικής Αντιπολίτευσης κ. Ντάνιελ Αντριους, ο επίσκοπος Δέρβης κ. Ιεζεκιήλ, ο οποίος θα τελέσει και τον αγιασμό του νέου κτιρίου, ο πολιτειακός υπουργός Πολεοδομίας, Πολυπολιτισμικών Υποθέσεων και Υπηκοότητας, κ. Μάθιου Γκάι, ο πρόεδρος του Πολυπολιτισμικού Συμβουλίου Βικτώριας, κ. Τσιν Ταν, ο πρεσβευτής της Ελλάδας στην Αυστραλία, κ. Χ. Δαφαράνος, ελληνικής καταγωγής πολιτικοί, δήμαρχοι, δημοτικοί σύμβουλοι, υποστηρικτές και φίλοι της Κοινότητας.

Oι τέσσερις μεγαλύτερες μουσουλμανικές κοινότητες στη Γερμανία κάλεσαν τους πιστούς όλων των θρησκειών να συμμετάσχουν στις προσευχές της Παρασκευής ώστε να επιδειχθεί ένα ενωμένο μέτωπο κατά του Ισλαμικού Χαλιφάτου και να αποτραπούν οι νεαροί μουσουλμάνοι να ταξιδέψουν για να πολεμήσουν στο πλευρό των τζιχαντιστών σε Συρία και Ιράκ.

«Θέλουμε να καταστήσουμε σαφές ότι οι τρομοκράτες και οι εγκληματίες δεν μιλούν στο όνομα του Ισλάμ, καταπατούν τις εντολές της θρησκείας μας, οι δολοφόνοι και οι εγκληματίες δεν έχουν καμιά θέση ανάμεσά μας, στη θρησκεία μας», ανέφερε ο Αϊμάν Μαζιέκ, επικεφαλής του Κεντρικού Συμβουλίου Μουσουλμάνων της Γερμανίας, σε συνέντευξη Τύπου που παραχώρησε στο Βερολίνο.

Οι αρχές εκτιμούν ότι περίπου 400 Γερμανοί έχουν ενταχθεί και πολεμούν στις τάξεις του Ισλαμικού Χαλιφάτου στο Ιράκ και στη Συρία. Ο Ντε Μεζιέρ, ο οποίος ανακοίνωσε ότι η οργάνωση τίθεται εκτός νόμου στη χώρα του την περασμένη εβδομάδα, κάλεσε τους περίπου 4 εκατ. μουσουλμάνους της Γερμανίας να επαγρυπνούν για τις προσπάθειες των τζιχαντιστών να στρατολογούν μέλη, ειδικά μέσω διαδικτύου.

Diagnosed with leukaemia at three, Rory Trist doesn’t have many childhood memories. Now his only wish is to make it to the Gold Coast theme parks for a drive with his hero – his dad.

Five-year-old Rory Trist doesn’t remember the last time he was away from home with his parents for holidays.

In the past three years, the furthest his parents took him was an hour away from their Perth home and hospital.

More than half of Rory’s young life has been spent facing a battle, far too heavy for his small shoulders to bear.

At the age of barely three, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL), the most common form of cancer in children.

Each year in Australia over 300 people are diagnosed with ALL, most of them kids.

“He’s had a pretty hard time and many problems in the last three years. He had just turned three when he fell really sick, as it took us quite a while to find out what was really wrong,” Rory’s mother, Tracey Trist (nee Sertis) tells Neos Kosmos.

“He had a high fever to begin with, that continued on for a month and kept getting higher. Then the lymph nodes started swelling in his neck, and he started to become anaemic after about six weeks. By eight weeks, he had an enlarged liver, he bruised very easily. By then we knew there was something wrong.”

Although with a good success rate in survivors, there is no cure for lymphoblastic leukaemia, which can be a life-threatening condition.

With Rory undertaking monthly treatments in hospital and daily chemotherapy treatments at home, Tracey, a member of the Hellenic Community of Western Australia, says once all the treatments are finished, it’s the matter of keeping an eye on all the side effects the strong treatments can cause.

“He finishes his treatment in January, he is on a clinical trial now. After that, we’ll have to keep an eye on side effects and we’ll remain under the hospital care until he is about 16. It’s still going be a lengthy process,” Tracey says.

The last three years for Rory and his family have been incredibly tough. With Rory still attending school when his condition allows, Tracey says her five- year-old is doing considerably well given the amount of medication he is on.

“However, he doesn’t feel 100 per cent ever, and that’s quite difficult for him at school. He gets very tired, but considering what he is on I think he is doing a good job.”

For Tracey and Eugene as parents, it was much harder to come to terms with Rory’s diagnosis.

“We are good now, much better than we were when compared to that initial shock and not knowing what was going to happen. I guess the thing is you just have to live with it as you can’t control it. Dealing with things as they come along – and that took a long time to accept.”

But there is a glimmer of hope. Rory is waiting for a very special wish to come true – a family holiday to the Gold Coast, where he can visit the theme parks and go on scary rides with his biggest hero – his dad Eugene.

Because of Rory’s leukaemia, the two of them haven’t had the same chances to build those special, carefree childhood memories as father and son.

The thought of his wish coming true is giving strength and hope not only to Rory, but to Eugene and the whole family too.

“We haven’t been away more than an hour from the hospital for years, and it’s something Rory is looking forward to. He’s chosen to go to the Gold Coast and see the theme parks and be able to play like every child in the water, to go for a ride with his dad. With the trip getting closer, in March, he keeps talking about it.”

With Rory a grandson of Perth Greek community members Jack and Crystal Sertis, the Hellenic Community of Western Australia is calling on members to help Rory’s wish come true.

Independent senator Nick Xenophon says Australians feel more ‘tasered’ than surprised by Prime Minister Abbott’s first year in power.

Australians feel more tasered than surprised by the Abbott government’s first year in power, says independent South Australian Senator Nick Xenophon, who has accused the government of “sneaking up on people with quite radical changes” over the past 12 months.

“The government promised no surprises,” Senator Xenophon told the ABC on the one year anniversary of Tony Abbott’s election as prime minister.

“I think some Australians feel more tasered than surprised by some of the changes.”

Senator Xenophon says those quite radical changes include deregulation of university fees, a $7 GP co-payment and welfare cuts.

“I think a lot of Howard battlers are feeling quite betrayed at the way the government has gone about things,” he said.

Several of the Abbott government’s budget measures face defeat in the Senate, where key crossbenchers – including Nick Xenophon – refuse to get on board.

The ashes of Victorian war veterans are to be protected under new legislation introduced into the state parliament.

Currently cemetery trusts have no legal power to extend the tenure of expired ashes without instructions from family members.

In the case of the ashes of many WWI veterans with no descendants to ensure their protection, a number of cemeteries have been removing ‘orphaned’ ashes after the obligatory 25 years.

Lambis Englezos – who campaigned for WWI soldiers buried in mass graves at Fromelles, France, to be re-interred – said he welcomed the move.

“Thankfully the government has moved to protect the sanctity and the remains of war veterans,” Mr Englezos told Neos Kosmos.

“Perpetuity is no longer 25 years. For those who had no family to extend their resting place, perhaps we are their family. Their service has been acknowledged.”

Mr Englezos said that he would continue to campaign to identify WWI veterans buried in unmarked ‘dirt plots’.

Mr Englezos and other researchers claim that the remains of hundreds of Australian servicemen from the Great War still lie unidentified in a number of cemeteries and the grounds of former psychiatric hospitals in Victoria and NSW.

“Now the identification and marking of ‘dirt plots’ can proceed, without begrudging bureaucracy,” added Mr Englezos.

“We need dignity and identity for our war veterans, and to mark them at their point of burial.”

Steve Kyritsis, president of the RSL Hellenic sub-branch, told Neos Kosmos that he also supported the state’s new legislation.

“All those who served our country deserve to be respected,” he said.

“If the family of that veteran is not known to look after the grave or ashes, the authorities should make sure to protect the history and honour of our servicemen and servicewomen for future generations.”

State Minister for Health and Ageing David Davis said that the government had acted after it had “listened to community concerns that cremated remains of war veterans could be discarded or scattered, should trusts not be able to contact their family.”

“Thanks to these changes, cemetery trusts will now have the power to convert these limited tenure rights to permanent tenure, where no-one can be found to take responsibility for their ongoing care.”

The new legislation comes following recommendations from the state’s Ministerial Advisory Committee for Cemeteries and Crematoria, which provides independent advice on strategic planning in the sector.

Mr Davis confirmed that the changes would also give cemetery trusts the ability to move remains to a place of remembrance.

“Our new laws will ensure that the ashes of war veterans will be protected for eternity, ensuring future generations can honour the sacrifices of deceased war veterans.”

The minister said it was particularly fitting “to pay this tribute to our veterans, past and present, at a time when our nation pauses to consider the momentous and terrible events of the First World War”.
