Τα Μέσα προβάλλουν το μέγεθος του προσφυγικού

Σε συνεργασία προκειμένου να αντιμετωπίσει η χώρα την προσφυγική κρίση κάλεσε ο πρωθυπουργός, Αλέξης Τσίπρας, όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους που παραβρέθηκαν σε ευρεία σύσκεψη στο Μέγαρο Μαξίμου. Ο πρωθυπουργός τόνισε ότι ο στόχος είναι να εξασφαλιστεί η μεγαλύτερη δυνατή υποστήριξη από την Ε.Ε. «Αντιμετωπίζουμε ένα πρόβλημα που ξεπερνάει τις δυνάμεις μας» τόνισε χαρακτηριστικά.

Στη σύσκεψη συμμετείχαν οι δήμαρχοι Λέσβου, Σάμου, Κω, Λέρου και Χίου, οι μητροπολίτες των παραπάνω νησιών, καθώς και ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Αθηνών και Πάσης Ελλάδος κ. Ιερώνυμος, ο υπ. Εσωτερικών, Παναγιώτης Κουρουμπλής, ο υπ. Επικρατείας, Αλέκος Φλαμπουράρης και η κυβερνητική εκπρόσωπος, Όλγα Γεροβασίλη.

Στο μεταξύ, τρεις ακόμα σορούς ανέσυραν οι λιμενικές αρχές από το Αιγαίο, ανοιχτά της Λέσβου, ενώ περίπου 6.000 μετανάστες αναμένονταν να φτάσουν στην Αθήνα μετά τη λήξη της απεργίας της ΠΝΟ.

Την ίδια στιγμή, το προσφυγικό είναι αυτό που διαμορφώνει την εικόνα της χώρας στα διεθνή ΜΜΕ. Μια εικόνα, δύο όψεις, τη θετική και την αρνητική: Από τη μία, τα διεθνή ΜΜΕ αναδεικνύουν την ανθρωπιστική προσφορά των Ελλήνων, παρά τα οικονομικά προβλήματα, από την άλλη τα νησιά που υποδέχονται πρόσφυγες χάνουν το τουριστικό τους προφίλ.

Αυτό υποστηρίζει έρευνα, που θα παρουσιαστεί την Τρίτη σε ημερίδα του Εργαστηρίου Στρατηγικής Επικοινωνίας & Μέσων Ενημέρωσης, του Πανεπιστημίου Πειραιά. Υπό την επίβλεψη του καθηγητή Αθανασίου Σαμαρά, δυο ερευνήτριες, η Μαριλένα Δημητρίου και η Κυριακή Φιλιππάκου, πραγματοποίησαν ποσοτική ανάλυση λόγου σε 468 δημοσιεύματα στα CNN, BBC, France24, Al Jazeera, FOX, Euronews και Deutsche Welle, στα οποία αναφέρεται η χώρα.

«Το αρνητικό στοιχείο είναι ότι προορισμοί, όπως η Κως και η Λέσβος προβάλλονται ως τόποι ταυτισμένοι με ένα πρόβλημα. Είναι, όμως, θετικό, ότι αυτό θεωρείται εξωτερικό τους στοιχείο και όχι ενδογενές – δεν φταίνε γι’ αυτό. Τα Μέσα προβάλλουν το μέγεθος του προσφυγικού και την απουσία υποδομών, όμως το ίδιο κάνουν με όλες τις ευρωπαϊκές χώρες που εμπλέκονται» λέει η κ. Δημητρίου.

Στα δημοσιεύματα κατεγράφησαν 2.791 απεικονίσεις κρατών που σχετίζονται με το προσφυγικό (Ουγγαρία, Σλοβενία, Κροατία, Ελλάδα κ.ά.) και 675 απεικονίσεις τόπων. Από αυτές, 386 απεικονίσεις αφορούν την Ελλάδα ως χώρα, 210 τη Λέσβο και 186 την Κω. Η Ελλάδα παρουσιάζεται ως μια χώρα με επιτυχή διαχείριση της κρίσης, δεδομένης της οικονομικής της δυσπραγίας. Εξαίρεση, η γερμανική DW, στην οποία η εικόνα της χώρας είναι κακή ακόμα και σ’ αυτό. Όμως, η εικόνα της Λέσβου και της Κω, αποσυνδέεται από τον τουρισμό. «Οι πρόσφυγες παρουσιάζονται ως θύματα, συνήθως σε μελοδραματικό πλαίσιο, ενώ η Ελλάδα σε ουδέτερο. Το ερώτημα είναι αν θέλει ένας τουρίστας ή ένας επενδυτής να επισκεφθεί έναν τόπο, ο οποίος καταγράφεται ως φτωχός και με πρόβλημα, ακόμα κι αν δεν φταίει ο ίδιος γι’ αυτό. Θα χρειαστεί η κυβέρνηση να μελετήσει συστηματικά τις επιπτώσεις και να προσπαθήσει να αλλάξει το αφήγημα που συνοδεύει σήμερα τη χώρα και τα νησιά της» λέει ο κ. Σαμαράς.

Ο πρώην αναπληρωτής πρωθυπουργός της Αυστραλίας, Τιμ Φίσερ, εξυμνεί τη Λήμνο σε εποχές πολέμου και ειρήνης, αλλά και εν μέσω καταιγίδας!

Άτομα κάθε ηλικίας, πολλά μάλιστα νεαρής, δεκάδες επίσημοι και εκπρόσωποι άλλων παροικιακών οργανισμών, χορευτικά σύνολα και ζωντανή παραδοσιακή κρητική μουσική συντέλεσαν στην επιτυχία της φετινής ετήσιας χοροεσπερίδας της Παγκρήτιας Ένωσης Μελβούρνης.

Ο Χορός των Κρητών πραγματοποιήθηκε το Σάββατο στο Κρητικό Χωριό, στην περιοχή Wantirna South και γίνεται στο πλαίσιο των εκδηλώσεων μνήμης «Αρκάδια 2015», για την 149η επέτειο του Ολοκαυτώματος της Ιεράς Μονής Αρκαδίου.

Το παρών έδωσαν, η γενική πρόξενος της Ελλάδας στη Μελβούρνη, Χριστίνα Σημαντηράκη, ο πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας Μελβούρνης, Βασίλης Παπαστεργιάδης, o πρόεδρος του Ελληνοαυστραλιανού Εμπορικού και Βιομηχανικού Επιμελητηρίου, Νίκος Μυλωνάς, και άλλοι.

Ο πρόεδρος της Ένωσης, Γιάννης Νικολακάκης, δήλωσε ότι του χρόνου που συμπληρώνονται 150 χρόνια από την καταστροφή της ιστορικής Μονής και οι εκδηλώσεις της Ένωσης θα είναι περισσότερες.

«Ποτέ στην ιστορία των ελληνικών νησιών δεν βρέθηκε άλλο νησί από τη Λήμνο που να έχει προσφέρει τόση βοήθεια πριν εκατό χρόνια, αλλά και σήμερα. Με τις απολογίες μου στον κ. Winston Churchill και ακόμη περισσότερο στον αδελφό του ταγματάρχη Jack Churchill (επικεφαλής στρατοπέδων στην περιοχή κατά τον Πρώτο Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο), αλλά είμαι σίγουρος γι’ αυτό μετά από προσωπική μου επίσκεψη στο νησί αυτές τις μέρες.

Το άγριο ορεινό τοπίο, οι υπέροχες παραλίες και η απίστευτη ιστορία του νησιού είναι εντυπωσιακά. Αλλά ο αεροδιάδρομος 4 χιλιομέτρων δείχνει σημαντικές προσπάθειες για δημιουργία υποδομών και έπαιξε σημαντικό ρόλο κατά την πρόσφατη καταιγίδα που έζησε το Αιγαίο.

Ως Αυστραλός, ήθελα να δω από κοντά το υπέροχο φυσικό λιμάνι του Μούδρου όπου στήθηκε η βάση των ANZAC για την εκστρατεία της Καλλίπολης το 1915, και να επισκεφθώ τα δύο εξαιρετικά συντηρημένα Στρατιωτικά Κοιμητήρια της περιοχής όπου αναπαύονται 148 Αυστραλοί, εκ των οποίων ένας δεκαεπτάχρονος: ο Α. Έντουαρντς που έφυγε από τη ζωή στις 12 Αυγούστου 1915.

Πιστεύω πως όλο και περισσότεροι Αυστραλοί θα επισκεφθούν τη Λήμνο τα επόμενα χρόνια νιώθοντας την ανάγκη να κοιτάξουν πέρα από τον Κόλπο των ANZAC την κοιλάδα Monash, το Κοιμητήριο στο Queens Post και κάθε άλλο μέρος στην Τουρκία. Η Λήμνος ήταν θεμελιώδους και ζωτικής σημασίας στρατιωτικό εφαλτήριο και μετά την επίσκεψη του Κίτσενερ το Νοέμβριο του 1915 όταν διέταξε την αποχώρηση των στρατευμάτων, η Λήμνος με θάρρος ανέλαβε το ρόλο της και βοήθησε σε μία τακτική εκκένωση.

Ο τότε ταξίαρχος John Monash και πολλά μέλη της Αυστραλιανής Αυτοκρατορικής Δύναμης πέρασαν την ημέρα των Χριστουγέννων του 1915 στη Λήμνο πριν επιστρέψουν στην Αίγυπτο, μετά στο Δυτικό Μέτωπο και τελικά γραφτούν στις σελίδες της ιστορίας».

«Σήμερα, μπορώ να πω, ότι η Λήμνος έχει πολλά να προσφέρει στο σύγχρονο ταξιδιώτη με τη χαλαρή ατμόσφαιρά της που τη διαφοροποιεί από άλλα νησιά με μεγαλύτερα τουριστικά πλήθη. Οι φυσικές εγκαταστάσεις για λουτρά κοντά στις πηγές των βουνών είναι υπέροχες, τα ξενοδοχεία και τα εστιατόρια είναι πολύ καλά και ας μην ξεχάσω τη χαρά μίας καλής σύνδεσης στο Joy Internet Cafe στην πόλη της Μύρινας.

Τόσα να δεις και να ευχαριστηθείς, και όταν έρχεται η καταιγίδα, η βοήθεια του Γιάννη του οδηγού μου που προέβλεπε τις ανακοινώσεις του αεροδρομίου πριν καν γίνουν, ήταν ανεκτίμητη. Η 40λεπτη πτήση από την Αθήνα αποτελεί μια πολύ βοηθητική σύνδεση καθώς τα ταξίδι μου από τη Μελβούρνη στη Λήμνο κράτησε 20 ώρες ενώ του John Monash και της Αυστραλιανής Αυτοκρατορικής Δύναμης κράτησε περίπου 18 εβδομάδες!”

Ο κ. Φίσερ προσέθεσε ότι με μεγάλη του χαρά συνάντησε τον Έπαρχο της Λήμνου κ. Γιαρμαδούρο Ευάγγελο και συζήτησαν τις προσπάθειες που γίνονται στη Μελβούρνη για την ενίσχυση των ιστορικών δεσμών μεταξύ της Αυστραλίας και της Λήμνου.

Can ‘ethnic cleansing’ result in the eradication of a group?

I am bemused by the absurdity of the recent comments made by the Greek Minister of Education, Mr Filis, on Greek national television. Mr Filis has denied that a Pontian Genocide took place. He has stated that what took place was “εθνοκάθαρσης” (ethnic cleansing) and not “γενοκτονία” (genocide). How he chooses to define ethnic cleansing remains a mystery.

Ethnic cleansing is primarily defined as the forced removal of ethnic or related groups from particular areas. However ethnic cleansing does often result in genocide when such forced removal of population leads or contributes to a group’s destruction. Indeed this is what happened to Pontian and other Greeks of Minor Asia.

Most astoundingly, Mr Filis chooses to define genocide as being: “η προγραματισμένη με βιομηχανικό τρόπο εξώντοση ενός ολόκληρου έθνους” (a programmed eradication of a whole nation through industrial means).

Article 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948) provides the legal definition of genocide. Namely it defines genocide as:

“Any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part1; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.”

As one may easily deduce, Article 2 makes no reference to “programmed eradication” of a “whole nation” and there is absolutely no reference to “industrial means of eradication”.

Yes, just in case you forgot, Mr Filis is currently the Greek Minister of Education…

Μόνη πρώτη πέρασε, στην κορυφή του βαθμολογικού πίνακα η Μπαρτσελόνα, μετά την εντός έδρας νίκη της, με 3-0, επί της Βιγιαρεάλ, για την 11η αγωνιστική της Primera Division, άλλα και μετά τη «γκέλα» της Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης και την ήττα από τη Σεβίλη.

Στο 1-1 συμβιβάστηκε η αντίπαλος του Ολυμπιακού στο Champions League, Αρσεναλ, στο ντέρμπι του Λονδίνου, με την Τότεναμ, στο «Emirates», για τη 12η αγωνιστική της Premiership.

Συγκεκριμένα, στο «Emirates», η Τότεναμ προηγήθηκε με γκολ του Κέιν στο 32′. Τελικά, στο 77΄ ο Κίραν Γκιμπς, μπήκε αλλαγή στη θέση του Τζόελ Κάμπελ και αμέσως ισοφάρισε αποτρέποντας τα χειρότερα για την Άρσεναλ.

Their livelihood depends on the deep blue Aegean waters they have navigated since childhood but the fishermen of Lesvos today dread what they will find in their nets.

The waters around this Greek island have become a graveyard this year for hundreds of people, including children and infants, seeking safety and a better future in Europe.

“We are afraid to sail out because we might find the bodies of children or run into armed traffickers,” says Christos Dimos, a grizzled fisherman in his 60s who has spent all his life in the northern Lesvos village of Molyvos.

Like many other villages on the island’s northeastern flank facing Turkey, Molyvos has found itself on the front line of the greatest migration crisis facing Europe since World War II.

Nearly 800,000 people have made the perilous journey across the Mediterranean this year so far and more than 3,400 people have died or gone missing trying to reach Europe, according to the International Organization for Migration.

Greece’s junior interior minister for migration, Yiannis Mouzalas, on Friday said more than 100 people had died in the Aegean in the last seven months.

“There is a tragedy every day,” Mouzalas said during a visit to the Italian island of Lampedusa, which handles an equally heavy strain of migration from Libya.

The fishermen of Lesvos say their way of life had already been dramatically affected by the economic crisis gripping Greece since 2010, which for them means higher fuel tax and falling incomes.

Now they fear that the mounds of flotsam left behind in the migration wave could impact fishing stocks.

“Petrol and debris seep into the depths of the sea and considerably pollute fishing waters,” says Nikos Katakouzinos, a fisherman from the coastal village of Skala Sykamineas.

“Perhaps in a few years we will have killed all marine life and will have to seek a job elsewhere,” he muses.

“Our nets are damaged by driftwood and plastic from the migrant boats that sank,” says Dimos.

And if tourists are discouraged from visiting the island next year because of the migrant influx, things could get worse for the locals.

Depressed or not, the fishermen do not hesitate to plunge headlong into the rescue when migrants are in peril in the stretch of water they know inside out.

“When you see a boat sinking with children on board, you cannot help being upset…you have to act,” says Dimos.

On October 30, Katakouzinos says he jumped into action when he spied a boat with 200 people on board in difficulty a short distance from his village.

“I had not sailed out that day, there were winds of 50-75 kilometers (30-46 miles) an hour blowing,” he recalls. “I was walking around the port at 7 a.m. that day, and I saw this boat sinking. I rushed to it without thinking even though it was risky. We managed to get everybody ashore, safe and sound. It was a good day.”

“Sadly, rescuing migrants has become routine here,’ says Katakouzinos, noting that the coastguard has just two vessels stationed in the area and often turns to them for help.

Greek daily Ethnos earlier this week had a similar story from the island of Chios, where fisherman Stefanos Zannikos recently braved gale-force winds to save 80 people including 20 children.

“The men in the boat were throwing the children (over to us) like basketballs,” Zannikos told the daily.

“One pregnant woman was soaked to the bone and was shivering like a fish. I covered her with a blanket but she continued to shiver, so I took off my socks and gave them to her. She had turned blue,” the 49-year-old father of three said.

However, on October 28, 29 people including 14 children died off Lesvos.

“I had never seen such a tragedy before,” says Katakouzinos, his voice cracking. “Winter is just beginning. A lot more people are likely to drown.”

The fisherman’s face darkens when he talks about the traffickers who profit from the migrants’ misery, packing them into unseaworthy dinghies that cannot withstand deteriorating weather conditions in the Aegean.

“Even when the sea is raging and the waves are two meters high, they are not bothered,” he says. “They send the migrants without caring about their fate. For how long will they be allowed to get away with it?”

Scott Dann’s header eight minutes from time earned Crystal Palace a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday as Jurgen Klopp suffered his first defeat in charge on Merseyside.

A month since his appointment as manager, Liverpool’s steady progression under Klopp was curtailed by goals from Yannick Bolasie and Dann either side of Philippe Coutinho’s equaliser as Palace continue to prove tricky opposition for the hosts.

In front of watching former captain Steven Gerrard, the hosts’ late pressure failed to yield a breakthrough as Palace secured a third consecutive Barclays Premier League victory over their hosts and their fourth away league win of the season.
Despite losing forward Dwight Gayle to a hamstring injury in the days before the contest, Palace started strongly with well-timed challenges from Emre Can and Sakho required to deny Wilfried Zaha and Yohan Cabaye early on.

Direct running from Jordon Ibe – who retained a starting place following his midweek winner in the UEFA Europa League – helped ease the pressure until Bolasie made the most of a lapse in Liverpool’s concentration 21 minutes in.

After hesitant play from Alberto Moreno, Can failed to clear inside the penalty area, allowing Bolasie to end Palace’s wait for a goal in open play, their first since the same man hit the back of the net against West Bromwich Albion on 3 October.

The opener sparked Liverpool into life, Coutinho’s effort saved by Wayne Hennessey following good play from Ibe before the Palace goalkeeper kept Martin Skrtel’s header out.

The withdrawal of in-form defender Mamadou Sakho due to injury appeared to have compounded a frustrating half for the hosts but Coutinho restored parity before the break with a slick equaliser.

Ibe found Nathaniel Clyne down the right, the full-back’s cross diverted into Coutinho’s path by Adam Lallana, with the Brazilian scoring for the second BPL match running.

Christian Benteke threatened with an effort from inside the box early in the second half before former Liverpool defender Martin Kelly snuffed out a Coutinho opportunity, but all the while Palace also looked dangerous going forward in a breathless second half.

Bakary Sako found the side-netting but Dann proved to be the match-winner in the latter stages, seeing a header saved by Simon Mignolet before reacting quickest to nod in the rebound as Palace leapfrogged their opponents to move up to eighth place in the Barclays Premier League table.

Chinese and Russian spies have attempted to hack into the top ­secret details of Australia’s future submarines, with both Beijing and Moscow believed to have mounted repeated cyber attacks in recent months.

The hacking attempts have been aimed at the submarine builders in Germany, France and Japan bidding for the $20 billion contract to build the new fleet. The bidders are holding highly sensitive information about the Royal Australian Navy’s technical requirements for its new-generation submarines.

The hacking attacks have forced the bidders to rely more heavily on hand deliveries of the most sensitive information. And they are understood to have alarmed the federal government, which has raised the issue of cyber security with each of the three foreign bidders for the submarine contract: German shipbuilder ThyssenKrupp, France’s DCNS and the Japanese government.

Manfred Klein, campaign manager Australia for Germany’s TKMS, said at the company’s submarine shipyard in the German port of Kiel: “We have about 30 to 40 (hacking) attempts per night, that’s what our IT people say.”

Mr Klein said the cyber attacks were all directed at the submarine facility in Kiel and came at a time when the shipyard had a team of 120 people finalising its design for the future Australian submarine.

“The Australian government has raised it with us, and they think it’s significant,” said TKMS Australia board member Jim Duncan, who is helping put together the German bid.

TKMS Australia chairman John White said the attempted industrial espionage was to be expected on such a sensitive and important defence project. “They’re trying to get into everyone’s communications,” Dr White said. “Espionage and breaches of security … you just ­assume it is happening. Everybody is in that game. It’s a space that people play in. We don’t suspect anyone, we suspect everybody.”

The Australian understands Japan and France are concerned about attempts by suspected foreign powers to hack into information relating to the subs project.

TKMS declined to say which countries were behind the attempted hackings, but all three foreign bidders privately believe China is leading the push to glean information about the submarine ­project. Other strategic rivals, including Russia, are also suspected of recent hacking attempts and it is also possible the three bidders for the lucrative contract are seeking to spy on each other.

There is no evidence to suggest that any classified information has so far been compromised by the attempted hacks, which are thought to be from state-run intelligence agencies, commercial companies and individuals.

The espionage comes at a time of growing strategic naval competition in the Asia-Pacific, with China ramping up its submarine building program and asserting its territorial claims on disputed islands in the South China Sea. Russia has also stepped up naval activities in the region, while other Southeast Asian nations are seeking to modernise their submarine capabilities.

As part of the competitive evaluation process for the future submarines, each of the ­bidders has been provided with classified technical and performance requirements of the new submarines. This data forms the basis of each country’s design proposals for the submarines, with each bidder having to submit final bids to Defence by the end of the month.

A report on cyber security last month by the Australian Strategic Police Institute found Australia was falling behind regional allies in defending online attacks.
According to ASPI, Singapore, South Korea and Japan had moved ahead of Australia in cyber security capabilities in the past 12 months.

A report last month from domestic spy agency ASIO warned the “number, variety and sophistication” of cyber security threats to Australia’s interests continued to increase. “Cyber espionage is attractive to foreign powers because it has the potential to provide access to large aggregations of valuable information and it is easy for the foreign power to deny its involvement,” ASIO said.

The federal government is considering its policy response to a year-long review of the country’s cyber security strategy.

In June this year, then defence minister Kevin Andrews said cyber attacks were likely to become the most persistent trans­national security challenge facing the country. “Offensive cyber attacks are a direct threat to the Australian Defence Force’s war-fighting ability, given the ADF’s reliance on information networks,” he said.

The most recent figures from the country’s key cyber organisation, the Australian Cyber Security Centre, said the agency responded to 1131 cyber incidents last year, a 20 per cent increase on the previous year.

The government will consider the rival submarine bids once they are lodged on November 30 and is expected to pick a winner, or reduce the shortlist to two, in the first half of next year.

The navy needs to have the first new submarine available by the mid-2020s when the first of the current Collins-class boats is due to be retired.

EMPLOYMENT is up, household confidence regarding personal finance remains positive, but house price growth across the Hunter has slowed, according to Hunter Valley Research Foundation’s latest Hunter Economic Indicators report released on Friday.

Senior research fellow and author of the report Anthea Bill said it was an interesting time for the Hunter’s economy.

‘‘We are coming off the back of a reliance on the mining boom, which peaked in 2013,’’ she said.

‘‘In 2014 we saw the fall out from that.’’

And while the economy was making adjustments it was ‘‘not out of the woods yet.’’

The Hunter unemployment rate has fallen from a 15-year high of 10.3 per cent in March this year to 7.1 per cent at the end of September.

The greatest decline has occurred within the 15 to 24 year old age bracket where unemployment has fallen from one in five to almost one in seven.

However, this may reflect some people giving up the search for work, the report notes.

Fluctuations in the labour market could be signaling of a shifting economy from mining to non-mining sectors.

Currently about 298,500 people are employed throughout the Hunter, an improvement 4.5 per cent since March 2014.

The report attributes this to growth in aged-care, arts, recreational services and building industries – where low interest rates have boosted the dollar value of residential investment.

Despite employment gains, short-term and long-term measures of consumer confidence in the regional economy have fallen in the last quarter. The pessimists have outnumbered the optimists since June 2014.

The share of businesses expecting to see deterioration, rather than improvement, of the regional economy over the next 12 months has also risen. However, short-term and long-term business measures of businesses own performance have shown improvement in the September quarter with fewer citing a lack of sales as a major impediment.

The report attributes economic ‘‘jitters’’ to concerns about China’s slowing economy, disappointing national growth rates and a cooling of the local house market – which has seen dwelling approvals in the Hunter steady.

Over the year to August 2015, 3409 Hunter dwellings were approved to be built, a 12 per cent decrease since 2014, while a trend of rising house prices, since 2012, has slowed in the last quarter. If this trend continues it may work to slow underlying economic growth in 2016, the report said.

The report is due to be released at a business breakfast held at Wests New Lambton on Friday.
