A customer has decided to sue McDonald’s for USD 1.5 million after the fast food giant gave him only one napkin with his meal, The Mirror reported.
The customer, Webster Lucas, said he was rebuffed by the staff of McDonald’s when he visited a McDonald’s restaurant in Pacoima, California, on January 29 and asked for another napkin. He is now taking the chain to court for causing him “undue mental anguish”.
On searching in his paper bag and finding only one napkin he returned to the counter to ask for more, the Mirror said quoting Lucas. Lucas also alleged that he was subjected to a racist slur ‘you people’ by the Mexican-American manager.
McDonald’s replied: “Our goal is 100 per cent customer satisfaction and that means friendly service with every visit without exception.” The chain had offered him free burgers and Lucas said it was an insult.
