POLICE have been called to Carrington after reports a man with a gun has barricaded himself inside a unit.
A NSW Police spokesperson said police were called just after 6am on Sunday to Young Street.
Police negotiators and officers from the State Protection Support Unit have been asked to attend the scene.
“Residents are asked to stay in their premises unless otherwise directed to leave by police,” the spokesperson said.
“Young Street is closed between Robertson Street and Hargrave Street and motorists are asked to avoid the area.”
Police were not able to confirm whether the man is alone in the unit.
