Greek champion Olympiakos faces a tough task if it is to prevent last season’s beaten finalist Atletico Madrid sealing its passage into the last 16 of the Champions League at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday.

Olympiakos hasn’t played a competitive game since thrashing Panthrakikos 5-1 on November 9 as the Greek league was suspended last weekend following a violent attack on a senior official of the country’s referee board.

Michel’s men have a realistic chance of reaching the last 16 for a second consecutive year as they are tied with Juventus on six points in second place in Group A, three behind Atletico with two games to play.

Olympiakos shocked Diego Simeone’s men with a 3-2 win at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in September, but the Spanish champions have reeled off three straight victories without even conceding a goal since to put themselves in pole position to progress.

The root of that revival was back-to-back victories over Juventus and Malmo in Madrid before they rode their luck in winning 2-0 in Sweden last time out.

Indeed, Atletico has won seven and drawn one of its eight home Champions League games since returning to the competition for the first time in four years last season and stretched its unbeaten home run in the league to 26 games with a 3-1 win over Malaga on Saturday.

“We know that we had three games at home coming up and now we have won the first one against Malaga, which is important because it was a difficult game,» defender Diego Godin said on Monday.

“We are going well in the league, we are where we want to be and now we have a final on Wednesday in our stadium and with our fans behind us.

“It is important to take advantage of our strength at home, but just because we are playing at home doesn’t mean we will definitely win. We need to keep fighting.”

Godin will be partnered in central defence once more by young compatriot Jose Gimenez as Miranda remains sidelined with a thigh injury picked up whilst on international duty with Brazil.

However, he is the only absentee from Simeone’s squad as Mario Mandzukic has shrugged off the shoulder injury that forced him off against Malaga, whilst Guilherme Siqueira and Mario Suarez return after being suspended at the weekend.

Olympiakos will bring two familiar faces to the Spanish capital in the form of coach Michel, who faced Atletico 25 times during a 12-year playing career with Real Madrid, and goalkeeper Roberto, who began his career with Los Rojiblancos.

Yet, despite failing to get a prolonged run in the team during two spells at the Calderon, Roberto insists revenge will not be at the forefront of his mind on Wednesday.

“I spent nine years there and they made me what I am. It is a place where I grew, learned the values of soccer, about the position of a goalkeeper and the profession,» he said.

“On a personal level victory would mean a lot, but it wouldn’t be revenge because it is a club that I have in my heart.”

Οι αγώνες Καλλονή-Παναθηναϊκός 0-4, Καλλονή-Αστέρας Τρ. 0-2 και Βέροια-Ολυμπιακός 0-5, κρίθηκαν από την UEFA ύποπτοι προς χειραγώγηση για στοιχηματικούς λόγους και έτσι οι σχετικοί φάκελοι την εφετινή σεζόν έφτασαν αισίως τους εννέα! Η διαδικασία που θα ακολουθηθεί. Ρεπορτάζ: Άρης Ασβεστάς.

Στην πρόσφατη κοινή συνέντευξη Τύπου που είχαν παραχωρήσει ο Γιώργος Σαρρής και ο Γιάννης Μώραλης, είχαν μιλήσει για εννέα συνολικά φακέλους που είχε αποστείλει η UEFA με ύποπτα προς χειραγώγηση (για στοιχηματικούς λόγους) παιχνίδια. Ο αριθμός “εννέα” τους είχε ξεφύγει μάλλον κατά λάθος, καθώς μέχρι τότε ήταν γνωστά μόνο έξι παιχνίδια για τα οποία είχαν έρθει οι σχετικές εκθέσεις από την UEFA. Η δημοσιογραφική έρευνα είναι αυτή που για πολλοστή φορά έρχεται και αποκαλύπτει ποια είναι τα τρία επιπλέον παιχνίδια, από τη στιγμή που η ΕΠΟ και η Super League έχουν αποφασίσει να μην τα δημοσιοποιούν.

Σύμφωνα λοιπόν με έγκυρες πληροφορίες, τα παιχνίδια αυτά είναι τα εξής:

α) Καλλονή-Παναθηναϊκός 0-4 (8 Δεκεμβρίου, 14η αγωνιστική).

β) Καλλονή-Αστέρας Τρίπολης 0-2 (2 Φεβρουαρίου, 22η αγωνιστική).

γ) Βέροια-Ολυμπιακός 0-5 (8 Φεβρουαρίου, 24η αγωνιστική).

Το περιεχόμενο των φακέλων παραμένει άγνωστο, συνεπώς δεν μπορούν να εξαχθούν ασφαλή συμπεράσματα για τους λόγους για τους οποίους τα ματς κρίθηκαν ύποπτα, δηλαδή ποιο είδος στοιχηματισμού ήταν αυτό που χτύπησε το “καμπανάκι” της εταιρίας που παρακολουθεί τη στοιχηματική δραστηριότητα των αγώνων.

Σε κάθε περίπτωση, οι τρεις τελευταίοι φάκελοι που απεστάλησαν από την UEFA (πιθανότατα μέσα στο Φλεβάρη) βρίσκονται ήδη στα χέρια του εισαγγελέα και έχουν σταλεί για να μεταφραστούν. Ακολούθως, θα αποφασιστεί από τη δικαιοσύνη αν τα στοιχεία που περιέχονται στις εκθέσεις είναι επαρκή για περαιτέρω διερεύνηση.

Θυμίζουμε ότι ήδη μέσα στη σεζόν έχουν έρθει άλλοι έξι φάκελοι με ύποπτα παιχνίδια, τα οποία είναι τα εξής: Βέροια-ΠΑΣ Γιάννινα 2-2 (27/10, 9η αγωνιστική), Παναθηναϊκός-ΠΑΣ Γιάννινα 3-1 (24/11, 12η αγωνιστική), ΠΑΣ Γιάννινα-ΠΑΟΚ 0-2 (2/12, 13η αγωνιστική), Ολυμπιακός-Εργοτέλης 3-0 (1/12, 13η αγωνιστική), Καλλονή-ΠΑΟΚ 2-5 (15/12, 15η αγωνιστική), ΟΦΗ-Καλλονή 0-1 (4/12, φάση των “16” Κυπέλλου Ελλάδος).

Η μεγάλη μάχη της Μπαρτσελόνα με την Παρί Σεν Ζερμέν για την πρωτιά του ομίλου τους θα κριθεί την τελευταία αγωνιστική. Την Τρίτη οι Καταλανοί συνέτριψαν με 4-0 τον ΑΠΟΕΛ στη Λευκωσία ενώ οι πρωταθλητές Γαλλίας νίκησε 3-1 τον Αγιαξ στο Παρίσι.

Από την αρχή του ματς, η Μπαρτσελόνα δεν επέδειξε την παραμικρή τάση για χαλάρωση. Παίρνοντας εύκολα την κατοχή της μπάλας πίεσε ασφυκτικά και άρχισε να κάνει τελικές κόντρα σε μία άμυνα που δεχόταν συνεχή κύματα επιθέσεων και φορτωνόταν κούραση. Για να ανοίξει το σκορ βέβαια χρειάστηκε μία σπέσιαλ προσωπική προσπάθεια του Σουάρες ο οποίος αφού άδειασε τον Γκιγέρμο έγραψε το 1-0 με το πρώτο επίσημο γκολ του με την Μπαρτσελόνα.

Οι Καταλανοί δεν άφησαν το πόδι από το γκάζι και στο 38′ ο Μέσι βρήκε δίχτυα για το 2-0 αλλά και για ένα ακόμη προσωπικό ρεκόρ. Ο Αργεντινός έγινε ο πρώτος σκόρερ στην ιστορία του Τσάμπιονς Λιγκ μόλις μερικές ημέρες μετά την κατάκτηση της πρωτιάς στον πίνακα των σκόρερ στην Ισπανική λίγκα.

Στο δεύτερο μέρος το σκηνικό δεν θα μπορούσε να αλλάξει δραματικά. Ο Μέσι σκόραρε ακόμα μία φορά στο 58′ για το 3-0 και παρά το γεγονός ότι στο 70′ ο Ραφίνια αποβλήθηκε η Μπαρτσελόνα δεν προβλημαίστηκε στο ελάχιστο. Κυνήγησε, μάλιστα, και άλλο γκολ και το πέτυχε με το συνήθη ύποπτο, τον Μέσι που σκόραρε και τρίτο τέρμα με το δεξί πόδι (αυτή τη φορά στο 87′). Ο ΑΠΟΕΛ είχε μείνει εν τω μεταξύ και αυτός με 10 παίκτες λόγω αποβολής του Γκιγέρμε στο 84′.

Η Παρί ήξερε από την αρχή ότι έπρεπε να νικήσει για να διατηρηθεί πρώτη και να παίξει την τελική πρωτιά στη Βαρκελώνη κόντρα στην Μπαρτσελόνα. Ο Μπλαν παρέταξε μία γεμάτη ομάδα και είδε τους παίκτες να μην δυσκολεύονται στο να επιβάλλουν το δικό τους νόμο στο ματς.

Το γκολ του Καβάνι στο 33′ φάνηκε ότι θα βοηθήσει την Παρί να παίξει χωρίς άγχος στο υπόλοιπο της αναμέτρησης αφού ο Αγιαξ δεν έδειχνε ιδιαίτερα επικίνδυνος όμως ο πρωταθλητής Ολλανδίας χτύπησε την ώρα που δεν το περίμενε κανείς και ισοφάρισε στο 67′ με την κεφαλιά του Κλάασεν.

Στο στρατόπεδο της Παρί σήμανε συναγερμός, ο Μπλαν φρόντισε να ρίξει φρέσκους παίκτες στο χορτάρι και είδε την ομάδα του να αποκαθιστά γρήγορα την τάξη. Η προσωπική κλάση του Ιμπραχίμοβιτς έφερε το 2-1 στο 78′ και το τραγικό λάθος του Ζίμλινγκ έδωσε την ευκαιρία στον Καβάνι να γράψει άνετα το 3-1 στο 83′.

“I think it was a brilliant performance,” said Cesc Fàbregas after a 5-0 win at FC Schalke 04 took Chelsea FC through and left the home side with a “bitter” feeling.

I’m very pleased. It was a very impressive performance and the team are very confident. I said before the game that we were not interested in mathematics or just securing a point. We showed this from the first minute and had a chance right away. We were very compact, very solid in defence – I don’t remember Thibaut Courtois making a save. We put in a fantastic performance.

Normally teams, when winning 3-0 or 4-0, they make defensive mistakes and allow the opposing team to score. Not today; the team was so solid. I think we should have scored even more. Obviously Schalke must be very sad with the result. The only comfort they can take is that they lost against a very good Chelsea team.

I don’t remember Chelsea playing this way away from home. There were great victories for me, for Roberto [Di Matteo], with other managers, but not like this away from home. Very impressive. Schalke had their problems, but I think tonight any team playing us would have had a very difficult time.

We take it match by match, step after step. We have qualified, we are top of the group – that’s a good situation for us. The players are enjoying their game and that’s good. This team is as good if not better than other Chelsea teams. But right now, we have not won a single title. We have to transform the quality of our game into results and then winning something.

I think we approached the game in a very consistent way. We were very aggressive from the beginning. I think we played great in the first five minutes. We scored two quick goals and that helped a lot in the end because we controlled the game as we wanted – whether quick or slow, we controlled the tempo, so I think it was a brilliant performance.

I certainly did enjoy it, but I think everyone did. We’re playing good football, we’re confident and I think we know what to do. We can defend, we can attack and the team seems really composed. That’s what it’s all about and hopefully we can keep playing this way.

I don’t want to speak about [getting my hands on the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time]. Let’s take it game by game and see what happens at the end. The most important thing is that we did our job today, getting first place in the group, so we can relax in the last game. We’ll still be competitive because we want to win it as well but obviously we can enjoy it knowing we are in the knockout round.

We played very well. We are now top of the group and have qualified, so it was a very good night. I scored my 50th goal in Europe, as I just found out. That’s a great milestone. I still remember my first goal with Marseille against Real Madrid [4-2 in September 2003]. Now, more than ten years later I scored number 50 – it’s incredible!

I think we did pretty well. We scored very early on and I think that unsettled Schalke. After that the fans were a bit on edge. We were a tad fortunate when they hit the bar but after that we were in control of the game. If we can keep up this kind of form we can go very far in the competition.

If you condede in minute two from a set piece, things are only going to get more difficult. We showed too much respect, did not pressure the ball enough and were not aggressive enough. They played very well today and clinically exploited us. We hit the bar when it was 1-0, so that might have changed the game. But if you go into the break with such a result, it is very disappointing. After the break we wanted to score and they hit us twice on the break.

We now have to win our last match and hope for Sporting to lose in England. We still have a chance, have to win our game and hope. I cannot say how Chelsea will perform on the final matchday. But even if they rotate a couple, they will still have a lot of quality on the pitch. My experience in England tells me there are no friendlies for them, they will surely try to win.

Tomorrow we have to analyse this, work on our mistakes and know we can still go through. Today was not what we wanted, while Chelsea probably put in one of their best performances this season.

Chelsea are very strong in midfield and we tried to overload the midfield to oust them. But if you concede two set-piece goals the problem is not in your tactics. You simply cannot allow so much room and space to such a team. I am a little bit surprised as well, because after our Bundesliga win on Saturday I had the feeling the team had confidence. I am very sorry for our performance, it was not a good evening for the players and staff and Schalke fans.

It was a bitter night for us, losing 5-0 in front of our fans – I think it was for everyone who came to the stadium tonight. We can only apologise for the performance and think ourselves lucky that we’re still in with a chance of qualifying – I think that’s the only good news of the night.

I think Chelsea will want to win their final group game at home, so the possibility is still there, but we need to focus on ourselves and make sure we win our game.

A lot of things happened tonight [which contributed to the final scoreline]. Obviously conceding an early goal threw us off track a bit. After that we didn’t look composed. There were too many silly losses of possession and goals we never should have conceded. There was the own goal too – that can happen to anyone.

We tried to tighten up in the second half to limit the damage but again we made errors which let them. A lot of things went wrong which we need to process and then make sure we get three points in the Bundesliga at the weekend.

Sergio Agüero was hailed by club-mates and opposition alike with Manuel Pellegrini calling the forward one of the world’s best players after his hat-trick downed FC Bayern München.

It was very important to win. In the first half we tried to wait for them to attack us and hit them on the counterattack. We started well, but then they scored from a set piece and then from a cross. That unsettled us a bit. We all thought that we had nothing to lose, so we pressed them a bit higher up the pitch and luckily we managed to get the goals towards the end. It was a big team effort.

I think that I have had some very good games this season and this is another one. As I always say, the important thing is that my goals help the team win. I am happy because my three goals helped us claim the three points, which was very important for us. Yes, it was vital [to win] because I think that a draw would not have really helped. The important part was to win today and next up we will go to Rome and give it our all.

I have always said before this night that Sergio is one of the best players in the world, one of the best strikers. He played today very well, but I think the team played very well especially in the second half. When we concede at the end of the first half it is very difficult, but we work, we press and finally we make the chances for Sergio.

We have to do our duty, it is important in these two games, we have won the first one, now we have to try and beat Roma away, and we also depend on what happens between Bayern and CSKA. But it is important that we do our duty and we see what happens in the other game

I am sure that this kind of victory it gives a lot of trust to the whole squad, at his moment that is important. We will see what happens in the last game. If we have a mathematical chance we will fight to the end.

We cannot concede two goals in every game that we play, it makes it very difficult to win. But during half time I told the players we have 45 minutes more to score our goals, but we must fight to the end to continue in the Champions league. That’s why I think the second half has double merits because not only did we beat Bayern but also we didn’t fall down with our spirit. This team is never beaten and they work to the end to win.

I don’t think this was the most dramatic game of my career. It was a very important game to continue in the Champions League, maybe the way we did it was very emotional but not dramatic. For me I always trust that this team in the end can do this sort of things, I am very proud of them.

Even though we lost, I am very proud of my team. We played with ten men for much of the game, despite that we continued to dominate possession and play an aggressive game. But that sort of thing happens in the Champions League, perhaps tonight is a big lesson for us. This is a group game, if it happens in the last 16 onwards then you are out of the competition.

I think if you look at the way we played you can’t say that we lacked focus. I feel sad for the players, perhaps we were a bit tired in the end and that was a bit disappointing. Obviously with a player like [Sergio] Agüero he is always going to pose a danger, but that is football.

We dominated, but we made two mistakes and that is why we lost. I’m sad for the players, they don’t deserve this. Of course I have to congratulate City, they have the chance to go to the next stage. We will try to win against CSKA. This year I think we are better than we were last year because we have spent more time together. Last year we had short periods where we played good but not always. Now we know each other better.

It is a good win – whichever way you look at it you are beating one of the top teams in Europe. We have done it a few times recently so it is good. I think we are better with our backs against the wall anyway and we go to Rome now and it is going to be an incredible game for everyone. We have shown with our performances in the league that we never give up anyway so we did that tonight again.

[On Agüero] Every team that wants to achieve special things in Europe needs a special player and he is our special player. When he perfoms like he did today he makes a lot of things possible that normally would be difficult.

It was a game we dominated for 75 minutes and then with individual mistakes we gave away two goals. At that stage we were tired, we had run a lot. We are pleased we played well but disappointed we lost. They were just two mistakes. The word is frustration, because we dominated the game even with a man less. We know we lost because of individual errors on our part, but we win and we lose as a group. We played well and we have qualified already.

We respect City – they are a great team and even if we had already qualified in first place we came here to play and respect the fans. Even with ten men we managed to play well. It was a good performance. Agüero is a great player but I think it was not because of what City did, it was just two mistakes from us. These things happen in football. Lionel Messi described it as “fantastic” after becoming the competition’s overall leading scorer, coach Luis Enrique calling the forward the “greatest player of all time”.

We have been trying to continue on this path. [The final game against Paris Saint-Germain] will be difficult; we played away against them and lost. They have very good players. They are a well-known team. This year they are growing in terms of playing together, and they are stronger every time. I am happy with our performance against tough opponents who do not concede many goals. Between now and the time we play Paris, everything can change. Now our focus is purely on Valencia [in the Liga on Sunday]. We played as we always play and everyone played well from the defenders to the midfielders to the forwards. We were better than APOEL even though they are a good side. We needed to keep up our intensity because you cannot allow them any space.

We need to adapt to every game. We were excellent in the first half and we did not allow them any goalscoring opportunities. That is pleasing from our point of view. It is a positive that [Luis] Suárez scored and he will get many more. But he doesn’t just score goals, he also helps out in many other ways. [Lionel] Messi is the greatest player of all time. He will continue to surprise us all for years to come.

We will play for first place in our group at home, at Camp Nou, against Paris Saint-Germain. We are really happy with our effort and the team’s victory – that is the most satisfactory thing for us.

We started the season tentatively somehow but now we are doing well physically and emotionally and have confidence. We want to stay on this path, continue just like this. The team is in great shape right now, in all aspects, and it would be great to continue like this until the end of the season.

[What do Messi’s record and Suárez’s first goal mean for the team] It’s a great joy, a confidence boost, lots of harmony. It’s really what we want for the team, to be united. Everybody is after the same objectives. We are playing at a high level now and we hope to keep that rhythm for the upcoming weeks and the new year as well.

Leo [Messi]’s records, both the Liga one and the one he achieved tonight, are a source of pride for Barcelona, to have the best player in the world. He is proving that in every match. For us, his team-mates, it’s a huge joy. When we see him do well on and off the pitch and give his best for the team, it is very positive for us.

We knew we were in for a hard game at a tough away ground. [APOEL] made it difficult for us at the Camp Nou and then Paris Saint-Germain had a tough time here. APOEL always play better at their home ground, but we are in good form. We said to ourselves that if we play our football and pressure them, then we would have no problems. That worked tonight and they had no chance against us.

The PSG match will be a good one, but tough as well. At the Camp Nou we will give everything to top our group. Every match is a world of its own. To win the maximum number of games is difficult but to try to win all competitions is what we must do. We will try to win them all and, if we play attractive football, everything will be easier for us.

It was a difficult match from the very beginning, because of the calibre of our opponents. We were up against one of the best teams in the world and we tried to face them with whatever we had. It was difficult.

APOEL have a good defence, but against Neymar, Messi, Suárez, Pedro and all the attacking players that Barcelona can field, it is very hard to cope.

We will look to take our chances [to clinch a UEFA Europa League spot]. We still have this card to play and we can play a good match there [needing to win at AFC Ajax to finish third]. We will give everything for a victory that will enable us to continue in European competition.

We need to be realistic. Despite our efforts and performance, we knew we were up against a team on another level. The result is normal given how they played and how the game went. My players gained some valuable experience. It is one thing to watch them on television and something else entirely to play against them.

In the Champions League, we have seen many sides – teams bigger than us – fall to heavy defeats so a loss like this is not that surprising especially given the quality of our opponents. We know we have a hard game away to Ajax but we need to believe we can do the job there. But we are the outsiders and we have to accept that. I believe the players have already done what was required of them – get into the group stages and give their all in these games regardless of the results.

It is so difficult to win away in this competition. When it is time to go there, we will go there with total faith in our abilities and fight right until the end. I hope I can enjoy another great night in Amsterdam. My opinion of Messi is the same as everyone else’s opinion. He is a phenomenon. He can do so many wonderful things when he has the ball at his feet.

Ο Λιονέλ Μέσι έδωσε ακόμα μια παράσταση αυτή τη φορά στο ΓΣΠ όπου με χατ τρικ οδήγησε τη Μπαρτσελόνα σε νίκη με 4-0 επί του ΑΠΟΕΛ, ενώ παράλληλα έγραψε ακόμα μια χρυσή σελίδα αφού πέρασε στην πρώτη θέση του πίνακα των σκόρερ όλων των εποχών στο Champions League, φτάνοντας τα 74 τέρματα, τρια περισσότερα από τον Ραούλ.

Χατ τρικ και από τον Αγκουέρο στη νίκη με ανατροπή της Μάντσεστερ Σίτι επί της Μπάγερν Μονάχου με 3-2 και κράτησε ζωντανή την ομάδα του στην υπόθεση πρόκριση, ενώ η Τσέλσι συνέτριψε με 5-0 τη Σάλκε στη Γερμανία. Η Παρί Σεν Ζερμέν επικράτησε με 3-1 του Άγιαξ, ενώ η Αθλέτικ Μπιλμπάο πέρασε με 1-0 από το Ντόνετσκ επί της Σαχτάρ.

Εύκολη νίκη της Πόρτο με 3-0 στην έδρα της ΜΠΑΤΕ Μπορίσοφ, ενώ η Ρόμα ισοφαρίστηκε στο 93′ σε 1-1 από την ΤΣΣΚΑ στη Μόσχα.

Τον δρόμο για την Ισπανία πήρε ο Ολυμπιακός εν όψει της κρίσιμης αναμέτρησης με την Ατλέτικο στο «Βιθέντε Καλντερόν» την Τετάρτη για το Champions League.

Οι «ερυθρόλευκοι» αναχώρησαν έχοντας στις… αποσκευές τους έξι βαθμούς και σε περίπτωση που τους κάνουν, έστω, 7 με πιθανή νίκη κόντρα στη Μάλμε στο «Γεώργιος Καραϊσκάκης» στις 9/12, τους δίνεις την πρόκριση στους «16».

Ο Ομάρ Ελαμπντελαουί ερωτήθηκε λίγο πριν την αναχώρηση της ομάδας του για το ματς της Τετάρτης (26/11, 21:45), αν θα επηρεαστεί αυτός, αλλά και οι συμπαίκτες από το γεγονός ότι δεν υπήρξε επίσημος αγώνας από τις αρχές του μήνα και απάντησε: «Δεν θα το έλεγα, διότι πολλά παιδιά είχαν παιχνίδια στα πόδια τους με τις εθνικές τους ομάδες και δεν υπήρχε χρόνος για να ξεκουραστούν».

Για τον τρόπο που θα αντιμετωπίσει τους Ισπανούς ο Ολυμπιακός, ανέφερε: «Θα είναι παρόμοιος ο τρόπος που θα προσεγγίσουμε το παιχνίδι με αυτόν κόντρα στη Γιουβέντους. Θα προσπαθήσουμε να παίξουμε έξυπνα, διότι είναι δυνατή ομάδα. Ο προπονητής θα έχει κάτι στο μυαλό του και θα μιλήσουμε μαζί του για να δούμε τι θέλει από εμάς».

Όταν του ζητήθηκε να πει αν πιστεύει αν θα παίξει: «Δεν το γνωρίζω. Ελπίζω ότι θα παίξω».

Νέο πλήγμα στο κύρος του ποδοσφαίρου από ανεγκέφαλους «υποστηρικτές του». Η αστυνομία ανακοίνωσε, ότι στον αγώνα Melbourne Victory εναντίον της Brisbane Roar, την Παρασκευή το βράδυ στο στάδιο Εtihad της Μελβούρνης, νεαρή γυναίκα και 12χρονο αγόρι κάηκαν από καπνογόνο που έριξαν οπαδοί της γηπεδούχου, στο δεύτερο ημίχρονο του αγώνα.

Σύμφωνα με το αστυνομικό δελτίο, συνελήφθησαν δύο νεαροί.
Ο ανώτερος αξιωματικός της αστυνομίας, Nick Nugent, εξέφρασε την ανησυχία του σώματος για την επιμονή κάποιων φιλάθλων να πετούν τα επικίνδυνα καπνογόνα με κίνδυνο να τραυματίσουν σοβαρά ή να τραυματισθούν οι ίδιοι.

«Στο περυσινό πρωτάθλημα φίλαθλοι έριξαν οκτώ καπνογόνα. Από τις 10 Οκτωβρίου, που άρχισε το φετινό πρωτάθλημα, έχουν ριφθεί 38 καπνογόνα και έχουν καταστραφεί 200 καθίσματα. Τα καπνογόνα είναι εξαιρετικά επικίνδυνα. Παράγουν θερμοκρασία 1.000 βαθμών Κελσίου και γι’ αυτό απαγορεύεται η εκτόξευσή τους σε χώρους που είναι άνθρωποι συγκεντρωμένοι» τονίζει ο αστυνόμος Νugent, και προσθέτει.

«Συνεργαζόμαστε στενά με την Ποδοσφαιρική Ομοσπονδία Αυστραλίας, τα γήπεδα και τους ποδοσφαιρικούς συλλόγους και την ασφάλεια των γηπέδων, ώστε οι αγώνες να είναι απόλυτα ασφαλείς και απολαυστικοί για τους φιλάθλους».

Ο αστυνόμος Nugent σπεύδει να διασαφηνίσει, ότι «τον αγώνα της Παρασκευής παρακολούθησαν 22,000 φίλαθλοι και η πλειοψηφία συμπεριφέρθηκαν άψογα. Υπάρχει, όμως, μία μικρή ομάδα φιλάθλων, που πηγαίνουν στα γήπεδα με άλλες προθέσεις» σημειώνει.
Η Ποδοσφαιρική Ομοσπονδία Αυστραλίας σε ανακοίνωσή της γνωστοποιεί, ότι οι υπεύθυνοι για τη ρίψη καπνογόνων στον αγώνα της Παρασκευής θα τιμωρηθούν με πενταετή αποκλεισμό από τα γήπεδα.

«Η Ποδοσφαιρική Ομοσπονδία έχει μηδενική ανοχή στην αντικοινωνική συμπεριφορά και θα επιβάλει όλες τις ποινές που προβλέπει ο κώδικας συμπεριφοράς. Το περιστατικό υπογραμμίζει τους κινδύνους από τη ρίψη καπνογόνων και η Ομοσπονδία επιμένει στη μηδενική ανοχή της» τονίζει η ανακοίνωση.
