Shark at Sunshine Coast scares four surfers from water

Four surfers have reportedly been chased out of the water by a shark at Noosa’s Alexandria Bay.

Tai Jennison said he and three friends were surfing at the popular beach this morning when they saw the shark.

“We were surfing the south end at 6.30am, 20 metres out when we we approached by a shark (unknown species) around 2.5 metres long.”

Fellow surfer Jarvis Taylor said they were “scared out of the water” by the shark.

Mr Jennison, a surf photographer, said this wasn’t the first time he had encountered a shark out in the water on the Sunshine Coast.
